This week is governed by the Three of Swords from the Thoth Tarot. This is a challenging card, but it isn’t as painful and difficult as the same card from the more traditional Rider-Waite Tarot. You see, the swords govern the intellect. The three of swords speaks to self-realizations and understandings of yourself and your patterns. Because the swords are specifically intellect these realizations can often be painful, even if they are helpful and good realizations to have had. When we look at ourselves with hard intellect we see clearly the ways in which we are sabotaging ourselves and the ways we are holding ourselves back.
Finding this card at the beginning of this week suggests that you may be dealing with these painful realizations or truths about yourself or your life. Or perhaps that is something that you will be dealing with in the midst of this week. Now, while I know that the title of the card is “sorrow” that doesn’t mean that sorrow is the main theme of your week. It simply means that you are in the middle of some intellectual work and realizations in your life. The good news is that this pain is temporary and as a result of these painful revelations you have a choice: you now have the information you need to make powerful change in your life. The swords lay bare the truth. This give you power. Don’t let the impact of revelations defeat you. Use it to move yourself to where you want to be!
